Brendan Hudson – Luxury House Builder and Developer 

During the designing and building of my own £3million home at High Trees in Burley in Wharfedale, HMS Interior Design’s Heather Shuttleworth was indispensible in helping to take the stress out of such an ambitious project, whilst advising on and designing some of the most striking features of the house. Even during the build, Heather gave me excellent advice on the design and layout of some of the doors, the lighting and the kitchen, as well as designing some special features on the spiral staircase.

One of Heather’s strengths was her ability to really understand what makes me tick and how to reflect my own personality in the design. Although she could be tough at times, stating her case when needed, the final outcome was always to my liking. One of the highlights was the bespoke bar for the party room; designed by Heather and built by local firm Stainless Engineering, this is truly a vision in polished stainless steel and wood and was the focal point at a number of parties.  And in the cinema room, I wanted something special for my friends and me to relax on … so Heather designed and commissioned an expansive multi-sided sofa that was ideal to view the screen and talk to one another.

Having HMS Interior Design as part of the highly qualified team was a real benefit to me and all the craftsmen. Her design vision, together with her “hands on” approach and willingness to listen to everyone’s views, was an important contribution to the beauty of this outstanding house and helped me to stay sane!
